2025 MISFIT
THE WINE
A beautiful contradiction that just works. The Misfit is a wild, light-red mashup of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and a splash of white aromatics. It’s built for the "in-between" moments—when you want the soul of a red with the chill and crushability of a white.
TASTING NOTE:
High definition aromatics of violet and crushed blackberry from the Cab Franc, lifted by the floral perfume of Viognier. The palate is a textural playground: silky, jubey red fruits with a surprising waxy weight and a clean, citrus-edged finish thanks to the Semillon.
The ultimate pizza afternoon or by the glass pour. The mouthfeel and nose of this wine takes me straight back to afternoons in regional Italy.
VINEYARD:
A collection of Barossa outcasts. Sourced from various pockets across the valley floor, where sandy loam and red clays provide the fruit intensity and the sandier patches keep the aromatics pretty and light.
VINIFICATION:
A true winemaker’s puzzle. The red and white components are handled separately to respect their individual textures, incorporating some whole-bunch fermentation for spice before being blended to find the perfect harmony. Aged on fine lees to soften the edges before a short rest in stainless steel.
